Acne is a condition which affects 90% of the teenage population and a significant portion of the adult population. It manifests in either the popular, postular or comedonal forms. In adults, acne may occur along with signs of photo-aging including photo-pigmentation, sun-induced comedonal acne and rhytides. Both adult and teenage acne can be treated with this unique procedure:
A two-step process:
1) Masque that draws impurities from, and prepares the skin for, the second step.
2) Application of a gel peel of a specific strength.
This procedure provides exfoliation and powerful antioxidants with little of the irritation that is generally associated with peels of this strength.
Visible signs of acne are:
- Comedones
An early acne blemish that is caused by blocked pores (blackheads and whiteheads)
- Papules and Pustules
Spots that become larger and inflamed (pimples)
- Nodules
Deep and large bumps that can be painful (cystic acne)
- Oily Skin
Caused by increased sebum production
- Pigmented Skin
After the inflammation subsides, the skin can be discoloured by brown acne stains (hyperpigmentation), and damaged by acne scars
- Acne Scars
Scars are common and can occur even with mild acne
